Accounting and financial services in Saudi Arabia: platforms that close the month cleanly
GoAgile implements and supports accounting platforms for Saudi organisations: Zoho Books, Odoo, Dynamics 365, SAP and TallyPrime set up for VAT, Zakat data, IFRS reporting and ZATCA e-invoicing, and shaped around how your finance team actually works.
Chart of accounts, VAT and multi-currency set up for Saudi rules
Month-end close, bank reconciliation and approvals that run on a calendar
Management reporting and AI-assisted commentary on governed numbers
What does accounting platform implementation involve?
Accounting platform implementation is the work of configuring and migrating an accounting system so it records transactions correctly, closes on time and reports what regulators and management need: chart of accounts, tax codes, currencies, bank feeds, approvals, opening balances and reports. In Saudi Arabia that also means 15% VAT, Zakat and withholding data, IFRS-based reporting, Arabic documents and ZATCA e-invoicing.
Most accounting problems are set-up problems. A chart of accounts that mixes categories, tax codes applied inconsistently, bank accounts reconciled by hand and approvals that live in email are what make the close slow and the audit painful. Fixing them at the platform level is cheaper than fixing them every month.
We work on the platform you choose, and tell you honestly if the choice is wrong. That includes Zoho Books and Odoo for growing businesses, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Finance and Operations and SAP for larger ones, TallyPrime where it is already embedded, and Oracle for large enterprises.

What we set up
From the chart of accounts to the board pack
Seven workstreams. Most clients start with the platform and the Saudi set-up, then add the rest.
The right platform, configured for how you work
We help you choose between platforms on fit rather than fashion, then implement: modules, chart of accounts, dimensions, workflows, integrations, migration and training.
Platform fit review against your processes and budget
Chart of accounts and analytical dimensions
Entities, branches, cost centres and projects
Workflows and approval limits
Integrations to banks, payroll, POS and e-commerce
Migration of opening balances, masters and history
A system that matches your finance process, not the other way round.
Built for VAT, Zakat and ZATCA from the first transaction
Saudi requirements shape the ledger: tax codes, invoice numbering, bilingual documents and the data your tax adviser needs. We set them up so compliance is a by-product of normal posting.
15% VAT with standard, zero-rated, exempt and out-of-scope codes
Withholding tax and Zakat base data
VAT return reports reconciled to the ledger
Arabic and English invoices and statements, with Hijri and Gregorian dates
Returns and audits prepared from clean, coded data.
A close that runs on a calendar, not on heroics
We design the close as a checklist with owners and dates: accruals, depreciation, intercompany, bank reconciliation and review, all visible in the system.
Close calendar with tasks, owners and deadlines
Bank reconciliation rules and exception queues
Accruals, prepayments and recurring journals
Fixed assets and depreciation
Intercompany and consolidation
Period locks and sign-offs
What you get
A shorter, calmer close with a record of who did what.
Money in and out, controlled and automated
Purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash flows with approvals, matching and collections, so invoices are paid on time and customers are chased by the system, not by memory.
Fewer late payments, fewer disputes and cleaner cash forecasts.
Numbers the board can read, drawn from the ledger
Management reports and dashboards built on the ledger and your dimensions: profit and loss by entity, branch or project, cash flow, ageing and budget versus actual, with drill-down to the entry.
P&L, balance sheet and cash flow by entity and dimension
One version of the numbers, available the day after close.
Drafted commentary, flagged anomalies, a human in charge
AI drafts the first version of management commentary, explains variances and flags unusual postings. A finance professional reviews and approves, and every figure links to its source entry.
Drafted management commentary and variance explanations
Flags for unusual postings and unreconciled items
Plain-language questions over approved data
Source links and an audit trail for every statement
Budgets and rolling forecasts held in the same platform as the ledger, by cost centre, project or product, with scenarios and variance tracking each month.
Budgets by entity, cost centre and project
Rolling forecasts and scenarios
Actual versus budget in the same report
Approval and version control
Driver-based assumptions
Cash-flow forecasts from receivables and payables
What you get
Plans that finance and the business both use.
How we work
From a painful close to a calm one
We prove each step against your real numbers, so go-live is a formality rather than a leap.
The local rules are not an add-on. They decide how the ledger, the invoices and the reports are built.
VAT
15% VAT, coded from the first entry
Standard, zero-rated, exempt and out-of-scope treatments are set up in the platform, so returns come from the ledger and not from spreadsheets.
IFRS
IFRS as endorsed in Saudi Arabia
Listed companies, banks and insurers report under IFRS, and unlisted entities use IFRS for SMEs. We configure the ledger and statements to the framework you report under.
ZATCA
ZATCA e-invoicing connected
Invoices issued from the accounting system are cleared or reported automatically and archived, so the ledger and ZATCA agree.
Language
Arabic, English and Hijri
Bilingual statements and invoices, Hijri and Gregorian dates, and right-to-left layouts that print correctly.
Banking
Saudi banks and payment files
Statement formats and payment files for Saudi banks, including supplier and payroll runs, with approvals and an audit trail.
PDPL
Data protection and residency
Finance data includes personal data. Hosting, access and retention follow the PDPL and your sector's rules.

What is the best accounting software for a Saudi company?
There is no single best choice. Zoho Books and TallyPrime suit smaller teams, Odoo suits growing businesses that want flexibility, and Dynamics 365, SAP and Oracle suit larger organisations. The right answer depends on size, industry, existing systems and budget, so we review fit before recommending anything.
Can accounting software issue ZATCA-compliant invoices?
Most major platforms can when they are configured correctly or connected to a ZATCA integration, but support varies by product and version. We confirm what your platform can do, connect it to ZATCA's Fatoorah platform where needed and test it before go-live.
How long does an accounting implementation take?
It depends on size and complexity. A small business on a cloud platform can be live in weeks, while multi-entity groups with migrations and integrations take months. We give a plan after discovery and aim to go live at a period end.
Can you migrate from Excel, Tally or QuickBooks?
Yes. We clean and map your chart of accounts, master data and opening balances, migrate them and prove the result with reconciliations before go-live. Historical transactions can be migrated or archived depending on audit needs.
How often must Saudi businesses file VAT returns?
Monthly if annual taxable supplies exceed SAR 40 million, and quarterly otherwise, with returns due by the end of the month following the period. Check ZATCA's calendar and your own circumstances. We set up VAT reporting so the return agrees with the ledger.
Does the system support Zakat and income tax reporting?
We set up the data your tax adviser needs: the financial statements, asset and equity details and the classifications that Zakat calculations rely on. The return itself is prepared and filed by you or your adviser.
Which accounting standards do Saudi companies follow?
Listed companies, banks and insurers report under IFRS as endorsed in Saudi Arabia, and unlisted entities use IFRS for SMEs. We configure the ledger, chart of accounts and statements to the framework you report under, and your auditors confirm the treatments.
Do you provide bookkeeping or tax filing?
Our focus is the systems and processes: implementation, integration, reporting, training and managed support. Bookkeeping, tax advice and filings stay with your accountants or advisers unless we agree a separate arrangement.
Can you automate bank reconciliation?
Yes. We import statements from Saudi banks, apply matching rules to payments and receipts, and leave only genuine exceptions for review. Our payments and banking integration service covers the bank connectivity.
What is AI-assisted financial reporting?
It uses AI to draft management commentary, explain variances and flag unusual postings from governed finance data, while a finance professional reviews and approves the result and every figure links to its source entry. We provide it for finance teams in banks and enterprises.
