Penetration Testing

Penetration testing in Saudi Arabia: find it before an attacker does

GoAgile's testers attack your networks, web applications, APIs, mobile apps and code the way a real adversary would, then show your team how to fix what they find and retest to prove it. Reports in English and Arabic.

  • Manual testing by certified testers, with scanners as support
  • Findings ranked by business risk, with fix guidance
  • A retest to confirm every critical fix

01Overview

What is penetration testing (VAPT)?

Penetration testing is an authorised, controlled attack on your systems to find weaknesses that a real attacker could exploit. Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) combines automated discovery of known flaws with manual exploitation that proves what is actually reachable and how much damage it could do.

Who needs it?

Any organisation with internet-facing systems, customer data or regulatory duties. The NCA ECC and SAMA framework both expect regular testing.

How often?

At least yearly, after major changes, and before launching a new application or integration.

How is it different from a scan?

A scanner lists possible flaws. A tester chains them, proves impact and removes false positives.

What do you receive?

An executive summary, technical findings with evidence, fix guidance and a retest report.

03How a test runs

From scope to a verified fix

Every engagement follows the same disciplined path, so results are repeatable and defensible.

  1. Step 1 · Day 1

    Scope

Agree targets, rules of engagement, test windows and contacts in writing.

  2. Step 2 · Days 2 to 3

    Recon

Map the attack surface and build a threat model for your business.

  3. Step 3 · Days 3 to 10

    Exploit

Manual testing to chain weaknesses and prove impact, safely.

  4. Step 4 · Days 10 to 12

    Report

Evidence-based findings ranked by risk, with fix guidance.

  5. Step 5 · Day 13

    Walk-through

A session with your engineers and leadership to explain every finding.

  6. Step 6 · On request

    Retest

Confirm that fixes work and close the findings.

07Saudi Arabia and the GCC

Testing that satisfies Saudi auditors

Regulators ask for regular, independent testing and for evidence that findings were fixed.

  • NCA

Penetration testing in the NCA ECC

The Essential Cybersecurity Controls include penetration testing and vulnerability management as defined control areas, and the CSCC adds expectations for critical systems.

  • SAMA

    SAMA Cyber Security Framework

Financial entities must test their defences regularly, and SAMA's FEER framework governs red teaming for the sector.

  • PDPL

    Confidential handling

Findings are sensitive. We encrypt reports, restrict access and agree retention up front, in line with the PDPL.

  • Delivery

    On site and remote

Testers work remotely or on site in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province, with reports in English and Arabic.

08Why GoAgile

Why teams test with GoAgile

A report is only useful if it gets fixed.

  • Manual first

Certified testers drive every engagement. Scanners support them.

  • Risk-ranked findings

Severity combines technical impact with what the asset means to your business.

  • Fix support

Our engineers help your developers close findings, not just describe them.

  • Retest included in the plan

We confirm the fix and update the report you give to auditors.

  • Detection feedback

Findings feed our SOC detections, so what we find today is watched tomorrow.

Tier-1 Saudi bankRed team exercise

A threat-led red team exercise for a bank

The bank needed evidence that its people, processes and detection would hold up against a realistic attacker, in line with SAMA expectations.

  • Agreed rules of engagement and a threat scenario with the CISO
  • Ran a controlled exercise against production systems
  • Ran a purple team workshop so defenders could see every step

Result: Detection gaps were fixed, playbooks were updated and the board received a plain-language report.

Ports and logistics operatorApplication penetration test

Web, API and mobile testing for a logistics platform

A customer-facing platform was about to launch and needed independent assurance.

  • Manual testing against the OWASP standards
  • Business-logic and authorisation testing
  • Retest to confirm fixes

Result: Critical issues fixed before launch and developers trained on the patterns found.

National energy operatorOT security assessment

OT assessment and segmentation for an energy operator

Plant networks had grown without a clear map, and remote access for vendors was a concern.

  • Passive discovery of OT assets without touching production
  • Purdue-model segmentation design and industrial firewall rules
  • Secure remote access for vendors with session recording

Result: A mapped, segmented network with a prioritised remediation plan the plant team could schedule.

11Questions answered

Penetration Testing FAQs

What is VAPT?

VAPT stands for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. The assessment finds known weaknesses across your systems, and the penetration test attempts to exploit them to show what an attacker could actually reach and how serious it is.

How much does penetration testing cost in Saudi Arabia?

Price depends on the size and complexity of the target: the number of applications, APIs, IP addresses, user roles and the depth required. We give a fixed price after a scoping call, so there are no surprises.

How long does a penetration test take?

A focused web application test often takes one to two weeks, an infrastructure test a similar time, and a red team exercise several weeks. Reporting and a walk-through follow the testing.

Will testing disrupt our systems?

We agree rules of engagement, test windows and escalation contacts in advance, avoid destructive actions, and can test staging environments where production risk is high.

Do you test in Arabic and provide Arabic reports?

Yes. Reports and executive summaries are available in English and Arabic, and testers can work with Arabic-language applications.

Do you retest after we fix the issues?

Yes. A retest confirms that fixes work and updates the report, which is the evidence auditors and regulators ask to see.

How often should we run penetration tests?

At least once a year, after significant changes, and before launching new internet-facing systems. Regulated sectors may have specific frequencies, which we map to your framework.

Is penetration testing required by the NCA or SAMA?

Both frameworks expect regular penetration testing and vulnerability management. The exact requirement depends on your classification and sector, which we confirm during scoping.

Can you test cloud and hybrid environments?

Yes. We test cloud-hosted applications and configurations within the provider's testing policies, and hybrid networks that link on-premises and cloud.

Tell us about your environment and what you need. We will respond with a scoped proposal, not a brochure.
